There have been a few 206 engine issues here in the N.W. two had cam issues nothing new here. BRIGGS has handled all im aware of very well. Good news this type of issue should be close to a conclusion. The other issues include an exhaust valve guide and a dropped rod .not sure the cause. My guess would be poor break in. Or a poor choice in oil . Personally i use and sell only the Amsoil 4t briggs oil .never an issue with one engine over 3 years old .

Elmer , can you explain the guide issue , possibly wear or maybe falling out? And also what is a dropped rod? Thank you.

On the valve guide issue The exhaust valve seized in the guide. Easy track side fix . Next the rod issue the cap on the rod appeared to seize or was not tight to start with . Let me say up front Briggs is working hard on quality control and doing an outstanding job. I also mentioned improper brake in and /or wrong oil .
