Stinger bad chatter

A friend of ours bought a new stinger a couple of months ago to run on a box stock predator 385 and it has a bad chatter. We have tried blue and lite brown springs and also the ones that came in it which I believe were black. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on springs or anything else we might try? Thanks

You might try sanding the inside of the drum and the face of the shoes.

The inner part of the clutch is backwards. The part that holds the shoes has to be flipped.

Both solutions are possible fix's .
They do clang a lot at idle .
When does it chatter ?

I don’t think it’s backwards but here’s a picture to double check. I know these springs were to weak but what color would you recommend. We have blue springs also.

Are you sure it's clutch chatter and not just chain slapping guard, especially if using mini gears

Thats right if inboard .
also don't flip the shoes . once wore in keep them same side out .

Thanks for the info, we are running it inboard so I’m going to have him sand everything good and put blue springs back on and check his clearance on the chain.

Will your sanding , hit any edge on the hub and shoes as well .
Chatter leaving the grid is just annoying , anywhere else it's a problem .

We use blue springs for box stock around 2700 engagement

I would go to black or yellow springs depending on where the torque peaks. Probably about 3300-3500.
