Stock appearing build

If you was going to build a stock appearing motor at home with hp in the high teens what parts would you recommend to get there? How many rpm is a stock crank and piston good for? I know a billet rod and flywheel for sure as well as a worked head and carb but who’s would you recommend?

Talk to Stout racing about the head. AKRA has approved the new head he has for anything other than stock. When I flowed it the flow on top without any work was better than any stock head on the market.

I agree with Don. Everyone has a good short block and they're pretty much the same. The difference in this class is cylinder heads.

Non hemi 212
356 dyno cam
+.40 arc rod
Flat top hemi pistion
36 lb valve springs
1.1 roller rockers
Billet sidecover
.30 shaved off head
28intake 27 exhaust valves
.09 head gasket
.675 arc carb
Heavy flywheel with 36deg timing
You’ll roughly make 20hp +\- some
