Stock briggs rod question

Alright, I got a stock briggs rod ordered, $25 and it's brand new. Before all of you pros hammer me about how it can only turn 6k rpms, (lol, no offense or anything, I just don't race and this engine is going on a minibike for fun) I just need to know if it is still appropriate to plasti guage since there are no bearings in the rod and if so can anyone explain the importance of plasti guage in the first place? Could someone also please tell me what I need to torque my rod bolts to? I know for a billet rod OMB reccomend 170 inch pounds but idk about a squeeze cast rod. Thanks in advance.

Plastigage is simply a method for measuring clearance between rod and crankpin.
It is appropriate to ensure correct clearances.
Probably more of a poor boy method of checking.
Measuring crank journal and rod bore is most appropriate, given the tools and means to use accurately are available.

I ran the stock rod in my first animal motor for 2 years. I regularly turned it 7000-7200rpms racing my kart. It never failed me.
