Stock class predator

Thinking of starting a stock predator class at our track. Want to keep rpm down below 5400. What would be a good gear rule on a 1/8th mile track? Weight would be 360

All we allowed to do is change the exhaust and remove the governor from the throttle, some of the tracks require that you bring a unopen box stock to the track and they will sill the motor. I like the class.... its cheap and easy.....

Check out the SPG rules at the top of the predator thread. Gear rule can work at keeping rpms around 5500. You'll just have to get with someone at your track to determine what's the best gear. Some tracks actually allow a range on the rear gear. For example 18 front and 55-58 rear.

Play with the compression ratio until you get the performance you desire. Nothing like low compression to make low horsepower. Even if somebody had to take the engine to a kart shop to get it done, I doubt the expense would be that much.
