drain the carb, tape off the exhaust and the carb intake, shoot some wd40 into the cylinder thru the spark plug hole and turn the engine over a few times to lube it up, put the spark plug back in and drain the old oil out...put some new oil in and cycle it again to get the bearings all lubed up. i went so far as to pull the valve cover and give the valves, rockers and all a squirt of wd40......sort of giving it come protection. then, every once in a while when your in the shop, give the rope a tug jsut to turn it over and keep everything nice and oily. if you run methanol, make double sure it's ALL out of the carb and that you shoot some wd40 into the intake....methanol will eat up some aluminum if you don't keep it cleaned out!
