striped crankshaft bolt

After completing the build today. I end up striping the end of the crankshaft. I will try and see the best way to fix it. I know the nut can only get about two turn.s.

Buy new nut and try and do something to end of crank
 
Which end did you strip? If it is a nut you are at the flywheel end. If it is a bolt you are at the PTO end ans a Heli Coil or equivalent will be perfect here.
 
I was guessing it was the flywheel end. Its a common problem when removing the flywheel with out a puller and not having a nut screwed on the threads when u hit it with the HAMMER!!

The old 10hp Tecumseh Star engines were real bad about stripping or breaking off the treads. We would drill and tap them, inserting a piece of grade 8 all thread. Problem solved.
