Ends up my fuel leak on the Animal carb is a stripped bowl screw...has anyone ever just run a longer machine screw through these an put a nut on top?

Yep, I have a customer carb done like this. Works just fine that way.
Pain in the behind to work on each time it comes in -- I have threatened to try to heli-coil it each time. :) That would be my suggestion rather than screw and nut.

Had this happen to me.. Did as you mentioned but used a longer allen head bolt with a nut on top. Havent had any issues with it.

the jb weld has held up in my float bowel for quite some time now .
of course gas and a 1969 bsa motorcycle .
if it fails you can always revert to the nut and screw.
