Throttle Rod Keeps Popping Out - Ideas?

As title says, the throttle rod keeps popping out from the top of the carb.
What're you guys doing to help keep it from doing so?

I put a slight bend at the end of the rod, but be careful installing and removing, you can break the small piece off the plastic throttle arm. Works great, rod cannot come off

This exact thing just cost my son a $500 race last weekend... he had it won until that damn little rod popped out.... talk about discouraging!

That sucks .
Did the little plastic tab break ?
Too much over travel or no throttle stop on the pedal .
Might need to make a rod with a hole for a barry clip .
Its always the 5 cent item that fails .
Not enough kink in the end is a issue also .

No, nothing broke, the rod literally just popped right out of the hole... never seen it before. I can promise you it won't happen again!
