Tire prep, asphalt oval, yellow vega's

I am a new kart racer dont have any dirt or asphalt history, looking for some good advice on tire preping i mainly run yellow vega,s i know most people say tire preping is not needed for vega's, but i have seen on several occaisions that other's at a few differant track's sneaking off and using some type of prep, any help or advice would be greatly appriciated
 
I don't prep my vegas (mainly because I wouldn't know what to use) but a set of Vegas I bought used was prepped with Flip Flop Mafia and seemed to work well. If I knew more about prepping I may start to prep my Vegas.
 
All I can say is, prepping vegas can make them last longer, go faster, and come in quicker from the start. I Gained some vega asphalt info, started prepping my tires... And along with setup testing, have passed it on to some 1 who runs asphalt every weekend and wins every race the kart is entered in... All the work is weeks before you race, and nothing at the track.
