Tire prep question

Treaded tires cost the most (with or without prep.)
They are more difficult, timely, and expensive to have mounted.
More expensive to cut, and more expensive to prep.
They are typically much worse to balance.
They are ridiculously sized for our application. (Most current treaded tires were designed to be use with the 250 & 500cc winged cage karts.)
They are extremely thick rubber (and subsequently heavy).
Typically, they lock the kart down and make it almost impossible to spin out, lose grip, etc, taking most of the driving and set up out of the challenge of racing.
When the track gets hard and fast, you'll chew soft treads right up.

Yes, I sell, mount, cut, and prep treaded tires.
Am I biased...you bet.
The biggest lie that tracks can tell a racer is that treaded tires are cheaper to run.
They simply are not.
