Tire prepping

Is tire prepping a must I will be running a stock predator class and on asphalt was just looking to see if it's better to do it or not is it kind of like prepping rc car tires to make them softer

Yea its kinda like rc cars but a little more complicated. If your running asphalt you'll likely just need a good conditioner to use during the week just to keep them in good shape, id reccomend Track Tac Tire Tuff, it also strengthens the rubber and makes the tire last longer

For pavement, and especially with used tires, I'd get on some good internal conditioning prep like our Medium Rare, (even HotLaps/Hotlaps II will work well.)
At most pavement tracks, nothing will hang with a thin rubber Vega, as Kyle said. Bolt them on and race.
If you are stuck using what you've got, the Dunlop will be the better/faster choice of the two.

Right now, I'd guesstimate that only 50% of the pavement racers are prepping. (huge difference from dirt oval racing)
Is it a must? No. Is it beneficial? Yes, if done correctly.
