Tire question?

I raced when I was younger and we always ran 900s on the right side, 600 on lr, and 450 on lf with the ht3 pinks and blues. I'm getting back into the sport, and some one told they are running 600 in lf and 800 in lr. Is this true or false I've never herd of running this, it's for dirt.
