To scuff or not

Have a race coming up in late October I'm buying up new tires for track takes a fresh tire in the cooler months will a 33 be faster scuffed or not? Tires getting cut this month and going in basement which is temp controlled 68-72 degrees year round better to let cure scuffed or not?
 
Scuff, cut, then put them away until a few weeks before the race, then start your prep work. That is how i do things. Usually will run them thru the hotbox for a few cycles as well before prepping. I have always scuffed before letting them cure. Ill be doing the same thing for the Fall Nationals if thats the race you are talking about, at DVR in October. This will just be my 2nd time racing at that track, i was there last year for fall nationals and you are right, the track likes fresh tires it seems like
