A big difference between mig and tig is heat input .

all the oval chassis are mig welded.
I am a welder, and my son does it for a living, so yeah I know the difference, the man that welded the chassis at Mikes, was a retired Navy welder

I know in drag racing all the top fuel cars have to be tigged its in the rules
