Welding pipes

High amp and fast travel .
All wrong!! Appropriate amperage for the speed, appropriate speed for the amperage.

You really do need that pedal to control the amperage. It makes us so much easier!

Argon is an inert gas, all that burning sote contaminates the atmosphere and that's why you have trouble.
 
Heavy plate is my forte . Not . 040 thousandths .
Extra heat and time to burn the soot creates drop out .
I just looked at that pipe again yesterday .
 
Roger that . It was a dirty old pipe . And no foot pedal .
Looking at them I think Buller is using a machine weld .
I have seen some pretty good welders , these are just too perfect .
Maybe even sub arc .
I just don't see how you could mechanically rotate a pipe easily to get the cones .

They are water jet cut or lazer.so the cuts are perfect.i would say rlv does buller pipes too…they are setup to do it..
 
They definitely look machine welded . Never welded with modern pulse tig , but can see how it would help .
