What is Recommended watts for Generator you use in your kart trailer?

Looking to buy generator and was wondering how many watts everyone uses? I'll be running a hotbox and most common things inside trailer lights, compressor etc. Thanks in advance

Ours is setup with a 3000 watt built into a cabinet on right side of the V nose.. We don't have a hotbox, so not sure what type of load they require. We do however have am air compressor, microwave, coffee maker, pizza oven, etc. all on board. Never had a problem of not enough power with ours.

Most every electrical device has the what is written on it, add them up. Realize that the listed wattage does not include "startup". There's always a surge on the start up.
Start with the things you have on all the time and first. After that, the tools you use. If there's more than one person in the pits using electric tools, include that. Don't forget the surge on startup. Most compressors have a delay on the circuit breakers to allow for surge.
If price is a consideration Walmart might have some good stuff. When I bought my first compressor it was a Sears model. 1800 W. I had an air conditioner on my trailer, that could just barely be handled on startup. It was noisy. Kohler makes a 4000 Watt that runs at a much lower RPM and is pretty quiet. Expensive.

I used CO2 to run my air tools. Fill tires, impact wrench. A 3/8 butterfly impact wrench can handle most things where you need an impact wrench.

Something to look for when purchasing a generator is for one with a 30amp plug rather than a 20amp. I have one I am selling if your anywhere near Richmond va
It’s new, generac generator 5550 wheelhouse with Briggs engine. I can meet at capital city speedway in Ashland va

I have a 7500 watt . I run a roof a/c with a heat strip , hot box , lights inside and out , air compressor . I run everything thru a breaker box and several outlets . Use LED lights , they don't draw as much from everything else .

We get away with a 3500W easily. Small compressor, heat gun on in hot box, and the roof top AC sometimes. I don't know if it would support everything running at once but thats never been an issue!

I have a 3500 watt harbor freight and a craftsman (Generac) 4200 watt and neither will run my air compressor. Surge pops the 30 amp breakers even though it runs just fine on a 20 amp circuit in my garage. I believe that the Chinese generators, harbor freight ect. are overrated. I had a Coleman 2500 watt that would run two heat guns without problem. My 3500 watt harbor freight will not do that.
