It's not a matter of time, it's a matter of thermal expansion and oiling. Even on the animals, where we have a much more rigid cylinder, we don't run less than .002." I can't even imagine running .0005" cylinder clearance with the R3 pistons like you claim with an aluminum bore flathead. You must be living right! ;)
