So....a 11.5x9.5 tire on a 10" wheel netted me 1/8 smaller overall...that's not gonna work. I went from a 8 1/4" wheel to the 10". These tires are just to big. I'll be looking to buy another set but gotta figure out if I can stagger Burris like Hoosiers. Or just buy Hoosiers.
You went from an 8 1/4" wheel to a 10" wheel and you only reduced the tire's circumference by 1/8?" Am I understanding you correctly?
Are you mounting these tires in a band to keep the size down when beading them up?
I just mounted a pair of that same tire yesterday and cut them on the lathe. Kept them both right at 36 1/2" - (generally they roll out around 37" for me.)
Again, these tires (at least on the Hoosier side) were not designed for low powered karts, they were designed for 250 & 500cc winged cage karts that can actually use 3" of stagger.
There is a better way (I'll be mounting a set of those later today.)
I always use a band, And it was tight to keep any stretch out of the tire. I mounted back on the original 8 1/4" wheel and its right where it was before I broke it down.
