What you break ?

Couldn't wait for the penatrating lube too work .
Pressed a little to hard with the pliers .
Now my float pin pedistal is broken .
Just as i was going to stop , one final try , tink .
I knew that sound !
 
Well now I don't feel to awful bad . With carb in hand .
Another hour getting the pin a out . Without further damage .
Darn needle was stuck in tight as well .
 
Well now thats a loaded question . I didn't you tube it . I should a waited , not sure that would have helped . So yes ; one thing , some carbs have tapered hinge pins . This ones gettin a red neck fix . Cotter pin .and JB weld .
Till i source a replacement .

Did exactly this to my generator one time. Wouldn't start in the spring, so I pulled the bowl to clean it...only to ruin it.
New carb back then was $100 or so...today I could probably get the CCP version for $15 or less shipped.
 
Fuel quality .
I parked a car in 1982 or . so .
Then never got back too it till last summer .
Twin strombergs . Never drained any fuel , expecting the worst .
No gummy rubber like substance in the fuel bowl . No corrosion .
Todays fuel ive seen turn to rubber goo in 60-90 days .
