what's it worth?

A new racer bought an older kart with a supposedly freshened kt100. It has what appears to be a Horstman Steel Nytro fluid clutch. (there are no stampings or castings on the outside, but it looks like other Nytro clutches). A little searching makes me think parts will be hard to come by. Does anyone have insight about this clutch and if he should decide to change it for a dry clutch does it have any value?

Value , yes . High value , no . The intended use has as much a part of its value as anything . . Funny thing about parts , free parts are extremely hard to find vs expensive parts . Friction disc's are the common wear item .
Class racing or just jump in and rip around ?

I think he wants to race, but it wouldn't surprise me if he rips around a parking lot either. I recommended a dry clutch that he can easily get parts for. He has no use for the old clutch, just wondering if it has value if he tried to sell it. I think its a 3 or 4 disk based on the size, which would be overkill for the "can" class he would run.

If it works , there's no benifit in a different one . Imho .
Quick sale 50.00 . 100.00 sometime soon . 200.00 don't hold your breath .
