What's that smell?

Went in to visit a local shop today and got that "smell" of karting when I walked in and instantly was smiling ear to ear. But what is it that makes all shops or even go karts have that certain odor of what reminds me of karting?
I've asked the girl what she smells and all she says is "gasoline". But I know it's something different.
So what is that "smell"? Prep? Exhaust lingering around? Rubber from the tires? Or am I just smelling gas?

I always loved the smell of a flatty on methanol.
The animal never quite makes that smell.
Most was before prep became dominant.

Gotta love the smell of race fuel in a shop.
Helps with the motivation.

My friend Fey Piper, was heard to say one morning at the track "I love the smell of burning Castor oil in the morning" from the movie. "I love the smell of burning napalm in the morning" (Robert Duvale)

Whats that smell you say...its us in the Dawg Pound... :ROFLMAO:

Really though its the new smell of tires, tires rolling/prepping for customers, preps, dyno room form testing engines, machinery from cutting blocks, heads, boring...jmo
