Wheels / tires

Me and a buddy was having a discussion, we run a stock predator class with treaded hoosier tires. We run the same wheels 10 right side, 8.5 lr and 6.5 lf. The right side tires are so much bigger that you. Have a ton of roll, now yes there are things that can be done to compensate for this. But here is what we was wondering, what's to say you run a 9 inch wheel down the rights and mount the 6.5 tire on it? Would there be much change with a narrower wheel? Or if a guy mounted a 6.5 tire on the 10 inch wheels? Our thinking on this is right now the 6.5 tire rolls out right at 34.5 ", a guy could probably get them 34 " thus gettinf you back to the 34 inch tire as per say with the maxxis etc....

Any thoughts or input ?

Might work. They will be hard to mount up but ive done similar with burris treads.
Get the bigg tires cut or get you some 10.5 wheels. might consider a total rethink on this low power , big tire deal .
Are Hoosier a rule ?

Ya they are, and we cant cur tires lol, I thought the same thing. Just trying to figure out a way to cut some rotating weight

^ There you go. That's what we suggest for lower HP applications.
The big tires were developed and marketed toward the 250 and 500cc outlaw winged cage karts (NOT stock Predator, 206, etc powered classes.)

Another thought -- If you're not allowed to "cut" the tires, then what's to keep you from running 100 figure 8 laps in a course paved parking lot to wear the tires to half tread?
Do they have a minimum tread depth rule? How do they tech for cut versus ground or worn down?
We cut treaded tires all the time in our shop - it's MUCH cheaper and less time consuming than grinding or wearing a set down...Oh yea, and needle prep into the blocks too.
