When replacing a bleeder.....

When replacing a bleeder valve on a brake caliper, what do I put on the threads? I know certain substances breakdown.

You can use teflon paste. Put it on the plug only, not in the hole. If you use teflon tape just be careful not to wrap any of it around the nose of the plug. 1-1/2 wraps around the plug is all it takes. Antisieze is good too. Whatever you use, don't get any in the system.
