Who is RJ Saylor?

Ha ha ha : yea been there done that . Tires and Engines . Without the Win . They must have been CHEATING .

If I claim them, tear them down and find an issue, the track does nothing, you all will be the first to know . what you do with that info is on you. That doesn't seem worthless to me. Unless you do nothing too.
Your claiming an engine because you don't trust what's been done to the engine by a racer before it was raced. Why should the racer trust what's been done to the engine before it was checked?

^^I don't fully understand your answer or question. Also, I dont HAVE to have trust issues to claim your motor. Not if I know how much it cost. I will simply claim it, to save $$ and time. I know what a stock engine cost, the same amount you're getting for your 400 dollar no hollar.

Heres the problem, you're going to be all upset, but I wasn't upset when you bought your pallet of engines or went to a builder, just because you could.

That's just it, you claim one of ours I laugh because it's just a stock engine that I hand picked parts to build.
With a pile of parts to build several more.
I build our engines, so no sweat off my back, I enjoy tinkering

Have watched teams spend $2500.00 in tires to win a $1500 race, nothing surprises me in racing
Yep, we spend $$$ to get to Victory Lane. Get that Checkered flag at all cost. Heck arent you racing a Super Late Model? $50,000 plus in the engine, $8,000 ++ Shock packages, and all the Body Tricks, Aero stuff. Your $80,000 race car races for Less Payout Really, on the Weekly. We race and Know we will never Win what we got in our Program..

So my grandkids can't race? Interesting.
Supers run for no less than 5k payout, majority is 10k+

Wasnt really trying to put it out wrong, just saying the $$$ we put in we will never get back. Its all for fun for me. Im sure your Late Model team is a little more serious. But I will never win what I have in my stuff. Yeah, now adays the Supers run for no less than 5k, at some track less $$$, and wont unload for a $2k to win because the $$$ put into the Super LM is not worth the 2k to win. Had a Local Hot Shoe load up at our local track for $3000 to win because of track conditions, but he's running a Lucas Oil stature race car now. Why race a $100,000 race car for 3k now.. Also to race a Super Late it takes about $800 to a Grand per night. So 5K to win isnt much in the grand scheme of things.

But will they?.... Thank you for your reply. I am not questioning the man's integrity to do the right thing. But lets say I called and asked hey can you do this, this and this, will he ask if its for the stock class and then refuse? Probably not. He probably doesn't care too much on that front, and I dont blame him. People lie anyway.

For a guy asking questions you already know the answers. Nobody will change your mind.

I meant that I wasnt questioning RJs integrity anymore. I trust that he builds legit engines. I dont know how this stuff works. I did want to know, at first, if he was a known cheater or someone who just lost big at the casino and decided to start ripping people off with wack motors. I trust plenty of opinions on here, including yours. Ive learned plenty and dont enjoy wasting peoples time.

Also,
But will they? Was a legitimate question and the reason I asked anything in the first place.

Can anyone tell me what happens when or if I go to claim and the track or driver says no?
no

And are you just blowing smoke on here for fun and games?
I just went back thru probably missed it but you never told us the track has a claiming rule.
You didn't tell us how much it is to claim?
All you did is blow smoke about claiming.

If there's no tech claim the engine off the fastest kart out there for what ever the cost, put it on your kart and go race.

you've been on here since 2016.
Are you the kid or the parent asking?

If the track has a claim rule most likely there are some stipulations attached, like you must be in the race, or maybe must finish in top 5 as possible examples, but if those stipulations are meet, the track can't say no.
If driver refuses it would be atleast a DQ for that event, or could be pack up and leave and don't come back, confirm stipulations attached to there rule.

I am the parent and have been on here (researching) since we bought a kart for my son in 2016. We started racing the day he could reach the pedals, which was last year.

Guys if I was an expert claim guy, I would not be on here asking. Cmon now.

"I am newer."
"I dont know how this stuff works."

There are no written rule at this track, which I have asked before (diff post) if that matters. I was told in the stock classes, it doesnt have to be written. I give you the price of a new stock one and you give me your stock engine. If its not stock, claiming worked just the way it was intended.

What makes you think im blowing smoke? Talking about a clearly touchy subject and pushing politics aside? Sorry about that.

There is more to this story, but I asked the questions I had as respectful as I know how. And there is a reason I am so adamant for answers.

Plenty of smoke blowing for me to worry about adding more smoke.

Then as an adult parent who thinks their kid is being cheated and not winning because of cheating engines, back your kid up, pick the fastest kart/engine combo there, buy your kid the fast engine and win.

Give your kid a lesson on being positive and doing what's needed to succeed in racing and society instead of being wishy washy about it for so long.

If someone gets mad about it if you win so what it's not your problem.
Your kid winning will be proof enough for all the other racers that you did the right thing.

If you kid still runs the same don't worry about it either and keep doing your best to improve or go race somewhere if you can't handle the results of your decision.

Bull, your talking to racers and as a racer if something needs done you do it.

If you don't, you don't complain about it,
You complain about all the dumb reasons why you didn't, should a or couldn't do it.

I sent you a message to hopefully help you better understand. Plz dont repeat it tho. If i wanted it to be known, I would of put it out there.

We do 95% of what you just said. Thanks.

Its the "buy the fastest (stock) engine and kart and go win" that im having trouble with.......because the "fastest stock engine" doesnt make a lick of sense to me. They should all be around about the same, and Im having a hard time believing they are.
Adult vs adult? No issue. Would of never asked. If i felt it needed done..boom botta. These are kids. Im trying to be sensitive to that or this wouldnt of been so drug out.

Your definitely tip toeing threw the Tulips . :ROFLMAO:
Even though tires make the big difference . Engines that make 1/2 - 1 hp more are effective .
A quick google search makes me want... to.. thank you, I hope.
I really was trying to be respectful even to the accused. I'd be offended if I was accused, but only for my driver. And these are kids and thats not cool. I would laugh though when you handed me $180 for my motor.
The accused ("parent") has trashed talked my driver, more than once. Im not going to get into details.

We run a spec tire, rarely prep, and I have tons of video and my boy is no lumberjack, sawing on the wheel.
Still doesnt keep me from learning about tires but my question was about a builders engines and claiming them.
Thanks for the reply
