I happened to have some Yamaha con-rods in my shop: some NOS early "lightweight" rods, as well as the current configuration rod (which I would call "medium").
I thought I'd post these weights here in case anyone once to do some math on balance factor.
Obviously, we still need the weights of a lot of other pieces (all the upper end parts, plus the b/e bearing parts). I'll add those onto this thread as I weigh them.
========================
Medium rod
overall weight: 109.7 grams
big end weight: 66.0 grams
small end weight: 43.7 grams
_______
Early/light rod
overall weight: 91.5 grams
big end weight: 56.3 grams
small end weight: 35.2 grams
_______
Crank pin plugs: 6.0 grams each
Big end cage + 14 rollers + 2 thrust washers: 24.1 grams (for bottom-located con-rod setup)
Wrist pin: 29.7 grams
Will still add circlips, upper end rod bearing, piston and ring soon. That should be the parts required to calculate balance factor.
