Looking for information on KT 100 Yamaha engines. I have a Comet KT 100 that was built as a junior engine and I'm going to race it in the Yamaha masters class in VKA. What I'm wondering is anything other than a carb change required to make it competitive??? TIA
With build sheet or documents comet could give you the best info .
Are you changing the exhaust too a pipe ?
Squish might be tight if it was a can engine .
I'm pretty sure the blowdown is different for a Jr. can vs. a pipe too... My advice -- send it to a builder and tell them you want it converted. Perhaps Comet, since they built it originally. Of course you can probably find a Sr. KT-100 for around $400 these days too....bonus if it's from a known and still operating builder.
