Has anyone ever tried something other than the yellow string? I'm not crazy about it. Was thinking about some fine braided stainless similar to throttle cable only smaller .TIA later Chuck.

That would work .028" or .032" seven strand stainless. Mcmaster Carr # 3461T61

I used the thin throttle cable with the barrel end in mine. Never trusted the string not to break.

Same as Sundog said above a little stiff but doable .
