Yellow Vega question

Considering buying a set of MCS Vegas for no grip, dry/dusty Missouri dirt track--do I need thick or thins? ( Super heavy weight) Thanks for all opinions. John

I prefer the thick right sides, then high crown cut them. Pink Panther internal: 2 ounces in the right sides, and 1 ounce in the lefts. Work the duro to where you want it from the outside with Monster Bite.
Great tires for low/no bite tracks.
If you don't want to cut them, then just get the thin right sides, but for dusty no bite tracks, I prefer thicks cut.

I'll be cutting two sets for a customer tomorrow or Wednesday of this week. :)

Can you explain what "high crown cutting" is? Thanks, John

High crown is basically where he only cuts rubber off of the corners of the tire leaving the center at or near full rubber. Doing this allows the sidewall to have more flex which will help on low bite applications.

Yep, it's just my terminology for a "really really round" cut profile. Premier8 did a good job of explaining. Thanks!

You can't get a thin tire as round as an originally thick tire - that's why I choose the thicks for right sides to be cut.

Brian
