11T Driver Problems

This weekend I experienced a new problem at the track. Our 11t drivers on two different karts locked up. I am curious how or why it did this. The actual driver did not fit on the shaft of the clutch anymore. The gear wouldn’t not spin easily. I am curious how to prevent this. I always lube these drivers.

Were the clutches put on without a radius washer?
If so, the end of the clutch inner bushing has swelled and is now too big.

File the outside of the very end until clutch slips over. May be difficult to keep snap ring from coming off if need to file too much.

May have to replace drive hub, if this is the case.

Or, you can cut the inner bearing race off flush, and use a separate inner race like smc clutches use.
I've done this a couple times, especially with 9 or 10 tooth drivers.

It was on the shaft , you took it off and now won't go back on ?
If it locked up it was not lubricated enough .

I have had the bushing walk on some clutches with smaller drivers. Had to center them back up to make them spin free again. Just a thought.
