whats the HEI?

and it doesnt overheat quickly unless low on water, then it pushes it into the overflow.

Just pulled plug # 3 and it snapped at the porcelain (thank goodness) and it looks like this.

here is a pic of the r.s of the block and intake, behind the alternator. Looks like the rust colored a-freeze at the #1 cylinder like Johnny suggested.

question though, there is a plug and sensor that goes into the block between the #1 & 3 cyclinders. I broke it taking off vlv cover. what is it?

that is the temp switch for the gauge on the dash..guess you'll need a need one...
