206 float drop

I have seen many post on float height settings. What does float drop do. Is there any performance gain or loss with drop settings?
If you run a 15' mount and height is a .860, what should the drop be?

Float drop assures you that the float can open enough to let fuel in the bowl.
If float level and float drop were the same the needle would not open.
It is also used to make sure the needle does not come out of the seat so far that it binds when the float does what it does ---- float or closes again.
Especially when you have a dry float bowl / no fuel in the bowl after draining it after the previous race.
For an unrestricted motor i set the float level at .870" and the float drop at just over 1.00"
That gives you plenty of needle opening.
When you have a high rate of fuel consumption like at full throttle the needle is vibrating on and off the seat.

Teamtiger- Perfectly normal to see excess fuel in the catch-can, G-forces are contributing to spillage. Double-check the float adjustments on occasion, usually engine performance will be your first hint that adjustments are necessary.
