212 high idle and wont take throttle

it would't get any gas with the old carb i tried everything to make the old one work all jets were taken out and cleaned float was properly working gaskets were on right it at least starts now

Harbour freight has new ones now 100 bucks .
Flywheel might have slipped .
 
Sounds to me like the needle on your new carb isn't set right. Or your slide is sticking. If the idle screw won't lower the idle past a certain point. That or jets.
