grandson wants to go sprint kart racing . would run junior class lo 206. lots of used karts on e karting classifieds . how to choose one over the other ? is the newer the better the way to go ?

Many sprint kart built to run 2cycle engines will be difficult to mount a 4cycle on. It can be done but will require cutting and welding.
Good luck ann enjoy the time spent with your grandson.

Newer only because there seems to be a lot more newer chassis designs that easily accept a 4 cycle. ( 2010 and newer) Just about any will work. You may find some that require the crossmember behind the seat to be moved. Easily done and has zero effect on handling.

New technology is better. We purchased a New Ionic Edge from Lutrell Racing last year and we love it. We have been running new and old chassis for the past five years and so far this one is the best. We run Animal Sportsman 206.
The best part is all of the support from luttrell Racing we have received. They are always there to answer questions or offer up suggestions.
Good luck!

Have to agree. Luttrell has been fantastic and service is top. Take a look at an Edge.

Couldn't agree more about Luttrell Racing and the Ionic Edge Chassis. We had been running other chassis on road course but none compare to the Ionic Edge. And Kyle Luttrell is always available for advice, service and repairs..., top notch!
