420cc fell over and now won’t start

I’ve got a 420cc on a longtail mud motor. The stand it was on fell over onto the head side and was like that a few days before I found it fallen over.

Now, it won’t start. I suspect the engine oil ran up into the head while it was laid over and possibly in to the carb.
I tried to start it with the choke on “start” and it fired up, spat out a ton of white smoke, ran for about 8 seconds and died. After that, nothing.

I’ve never had to work on something like this and not sure where to start. What steps should I take to trouble shoot it and get it back running?

Thanks in advance .

Pull the spark plug and turn the engine over. Stand to one side as you will get covered in oil if it is in the cylinder. I usually spray carb or brake cleaner in the cylinder and blow it out. Change or clean plug you should be good to go.
