I've recently been covering occupational/hobby exposures to chemicals in a class in PA school and thought I'd just pass this along. An article about the relationship between solvents and kidney disease. This is just one of several serious complications of solvent exposure. I was at one time wreckless with my tire work (no gloves, in the garage with all windows down and no moving air), but learning about how it really affects you on a biochemical level has been a wake up call.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for loading up some tires to go fast, just do it in the safest manner possible. Wear non-reactive nitrile gloves, only use in a well ventilated area and GO FAST!!
