Animal and starter direction and shaft size

Ok I want to make sure I have this right. RH is clockwise LH is counter-clockwise Right?Now more important question. How do I tell if my animal motor is RH or LH. Also how do I tell if my Burris "mini-light" starter is RH of LH. Last question is it OK to use the 3/8 socket end the starter (bought used) came with or should I get a 1/2 shaft. Thank You.

animal motors turn clockwise at the flywheel nut. To tell what your starter is, push the button. You'll probably need a 1/2 adaptor to get to the socket size you need...don't buy a new shaft till you break the 3/8, I'd tack weld the adapter on. Tape the socket ( electrical tape) to the adaptor/ shaft so youre not always chasing it around when it comes loose.
