Animal Arc rod clearance ?

my arc beefy rod to crank clearance Is .0017. Little tight. Hone the rod or hone the bearing shell in the rod? torqued to spec.
 
The babbet may not be fully seated in the rod. I use a wooden dowel and a hammer to make sure they are fully seated.

Plastic gauge. telescoping gauge and micrometer. In the instructions the crank rod journal should b 1.098 +/- .0005. Mine crank measure’s 1.0993. A new world formula rod has .0028 clearance. That will do for now. I will talk to dyno cams next week.
