Boring Question (Cylinders, that is)

What kind of device is used for boring the cylinders on the OHV engines? Are shops using milling machines, or the EZ bore machines? Just not sure how this is done.

Could be either one .
Index off. Crank centerline .
With a torque plate .
A rigid hone could also be used .

I have an EZ Bore machine I use for boring my animal motors

EZ Bore works great and very accurate. Been using that for about 15 years with no problems on hundreds of Animal blocks.

EZ Bore is certainly much quicker and easier than indicating in on a vertical mill. We bore probably 90-95% of our blocks with the EZ Bore system.
