Breaking in Briggs 3.5 flathead

Got a new in box briggs 3.5 flathead. Can anyone recomend the best way to break this motor in. I,ve been told to run 5-20 non-synthetic on idle for 15mins then bring up to 1800rpm for 1 min then idle again for 5mins. Shut down let cool for 1 hour then drain and add my amsoil 4t synthetic racing oil.
