Carb type and size

Simple.

Roll engine in the direction it rolls.
When the exhaust starts to open, set the intake.

Roll the pushrod between your thumb and finger. When it gets snug, back up until you can just roll it. Lock it down and make sure it stays the same.

Roll the engine further until the intake full opens and starts to close.

Adjust the exhaust valve, using the same method as the intake.

Roll it again to check your work.

Just wanted to know if I was doing it correct, I was told to roll the roller until it won't roll anymore...I will check using your method. Thank you

She is, I haven't had it on the track. PE24mm nibbi flatslide carb, 32° and lash is a sticker thick, less than a business card thick. Gasoline
So what ended up happening? Is she running like a raped ape ?? what carb, fuel, jet, timing, and lash did you end up with???

I'm glad you got her going you will have to post your results on the track. When is your next race?
I am as well and I couldn't have done it with out all of yalls help. We're shut down at the moment, but I definitely will post results we're in Harleyville sc 29483

Is this a good sign?

New plug, a few revs at high rpm, no idle, just kill switch and pulled plug. I haven't been able to read a plug yet, learning that though

Most plug reading is a bit of an art.
You want to be looking at the white insulator around the electrode.

A light tan color is preferred.

Best if the engine is run wide open on track, and cut clean on the straight.
Harder to do on a kart, that's the method.

Best guys have o magnifying glass with built in light for seeing better.
Then, all you need is experience.

I like the idea of magnifying glass with light. Thank you
