clutch problems newbie

New to karting just got one and was test running it around the yard...the clutch makes a loud catching noise and acts like it wants to lock up...i tried re adjusting the chain...any help would be appreciated..

What type of clutch? Drum or disk?

Also what motor ? Full hookup RPM ?

Definitely need more info. What type/brand of clutch and how is it set-up is a good place to start.

I rebuild many brands of clutches - I would be glad to help you in any way I possibly can.

their is several things it could be, did yuou check to make sure the sprockets are not worn out, is it the right size chain for the sprockets,

If Noram ? Could be the shoes are set in the aggressive setting notch "some call backwards' ?

Or it got cleaned with carb cleaner instead of wd-40......but sadly this guy must not want any help so we may never know.
