Dawg Thread 2

ok mecenik dawgs - who's got the skinny on the actual factual correct true socket size for the front axle hub castle nut on a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4? conflicting results from google searches

1a auto says 35 mm they ussualy are pretty accurate.
Some replacement nuts are a differnt size .
I've had good luck with 6 point inch sizes working sometimes .

turns out it 1 - 11/16" Of course it only found readily in 3/4" drive, luckily I have 3/4" to 1/2" adapter. Changed out wheel bearing assemblies, rotors, pads, calipers - front rotates so much smoother now (both wheel bearing assemblies were seizing up and one of the calipers was freezing up, so good call to replace all BUT the frickin irritant rotational squeak still there - jack up buttend of truck put in neut, brody rotates wheel, shazaam: coming from main driveshaft so, on to 2 new ujoints but not tonight cuz I'm done whooped, on my 2nd pr of pants and 3rd shirt of being soaked to the core from sweat.

so, theres my sunday, how was everyone's weekend? LOL

That a good days work Dawg .
Funny last time i chased a funny noise that i thought was the drive line .
Turned out was the wheel bearing .
