Electric Kart to compete with TAG karts

Hello everyone. I own Vextrek, LLC located in Augusta, GA. Vextrek will sell “bolt on kits” to convert gas-powered karts to fully electric power. The goal is to match the performance of the TAG Senior Series. The kit will consist of an AC electric motor, lithium ion battery pack, charger, and all gauges and wiring necessary to convert a kart to electric power. Due to the weight of the drivetrain and battery, a shifter chassis is needed because of its excellent braking capability. We currently have the prototype kit bolted onto a DR shifter chassis (M99) which weighs in at 310 lbs without the driver. Obviously, this is substantially heavier than a gas-powered set up but so far the performance has been excellent. Here’s the Facebook page in case you’re interested in following our story. Thank you for letting us post in this forum.

We were allowed to race against some vintage and modern two cycles at the Lamar County Speedway in Barnesville, GA recently. Really great group of people. They did not have to let us race but seemed interested in the project so they let us run with them. Hopefully will get to run against some tagged court scenes. Ultimate goal is a 52 second lap time at the Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville Georgia. Extremely challenging track with a very talented group of drivers.

Here’s a brief video of the Barnesville race.

Not as challenging as a regular go kart track but here are a few passes at the Carolina Dragstrip. Lithium ion battery performed very well.
