Electric starter motor

Yea you need gear reduction. The starters that come on most Honda and Toyota's work perfect for starting these engines, you can use a small motorcycle battery found at most cycle shops for around $30-50. The starters can be found used at salvage yards or junkyards for around $40-50 also
 
older n dirt are you saying those starters don't need the gear reduction set up? Just curious as I have the option, and sources to build one, but have found a couple nice used ones too, so cost wise if I'm not going to save much is it worth it?
