Engine bogs down on restarts

Hey guys, I have been having trouble on restarts lately where the engine seems to bog down and everyone else takes off faster than me. Once I get up to speed everything seems fine. Looking for some advice on where to start looking to diagnose the problem. The problem started when I changed an old flathead motor and 2 disc horstman clutch out for a different flathead and jammer 3 disc clutch. (unfortunately going back to the old one is not an option). Everything else on the kart has remained constant. Thanks for the help!
 
I never had much luck with a 3 disc on a flatty. My guess is your engagement is too low and or you aren't making enough power for a 3 disc and the clutch is chattering. I'm no clutch expert though. Never could my 3disc to work.
