flathead motor

Sure, it would involve increasing the fuel holes under the Jet, take the small one to just under .028, the large one to just under .062, those are the no go numbers for a stock legal alky carb. I like to go a little smaller on the big hole around .056. Then you'll run a bigger main jet, anywhere from a .048 to a .054 depending on your area and air temps. Set the needle at 1 1/2 turns out and tune with the jets, looking to make about 400 degrees head temp. You'll also need to advance the ignition timing 5 or 6 degrees to about 30. Jon

Really no need to elaborate....Jon pretty much nailed it.
There's more little tweaks you can do, but that'll get you going.

Now, if you're not running somewhere that has water test as part of their fuel tech, be sure to purge the engine at the end of every day.
Drain the alcohol, run a splash of gas through the engine and drain the remaining gas from the tank.
Alcohol is very corrosive by nature; it eats into the aluminum and causes ferrous metals (seats, rings, cylinder, etc to rust.)
Alcohol also gets in the bottom end of the engine and can cause damage via oil dilution (water based alcohol and most oils don't play well together.)
You will want to change your oil more often as a result.

When you say a water test ? does the water makes it any faster ? or just want to know....because I run FH / Animal sometimes ..

No, the water will not make it any faster. It is simply a method of checking the competitor's fuel for additives. Distilled water is added to the fuel in a clear glass container...the distilled water will mix with straight methanol and not become cloudy, separate, bubble/fizz, etc. This test, along with a hydrometer check for specific gravity, heat test, bleach test, even a smell test can be used in the tech barn to determine if anything other than straight methanol is being used.

The water test is a fast and easy way to tell if someone is running soeme type of illegal fuel in their Methanol. In a clean, clear glass beaker or glass, mix your Methanol 50 / 50 with distilled water. It may bubble, be a little cloudy from the bubbles, but in a few seconds will become clear. Just a drop or two of gasoline in the beaker will make the Methanol so cloudy you cannot see thru it. You have to handle the Methanol with Care!!! You don't want water in the Methanol ( puts out the fire ) or other substances that will get you tossed in Tech.

The FH is difficult to purge the system of the Methanol. An Animal is easy, another reason to race the Animal LOL.

Reread post #2 for your answer, that answered your question the best you will find on here...Jon is an expert when it comes to flatheads

You can run the same carb once you drill it like described in post #2 and run a bigger jet. Don't forget to advance the ignition timing for alky or it won't make any power.
