I'm new to animals what rod and piston do you need when you put a flathead crank in a animal? Do you use the animal flywheel or flatty.

What I use.
I prefer the billet crank, you can use a stock B&S crank if you wish
This is the rod to use
Cam Gear
Side cover seal
Side cover bearing
Piston is a JE P/N# 289781 with the top cut down to deck height
I recommend you sending your engine to a competent engine builder with a reputation for delivering quality service, both in the customer and engine departments. I use Roy Ensor.
