Floating Sprocket Hubs

I have never run a floating hub and I am curious if there is truly an advantage to running them. You would think so because it would "guarantee" the rear sprocket aligns with the front driver. Yet, I do not see many people running them. Furthermore, how much leeway are you supposed to leave for the hub to float?

We started using one earlier this year and like it so far. We use it in conjunction with the mega mount chain guard and don't run rear sprocket guards anymore.

To me it works very well. Very little to no gear wear and no chain jumps. You can run without one just fine also. so I would think cost is the biggest reason people dont use them.

We run one, I don't think it's any better than having a perfectly aligned fixed hub. It's just tough to always have a perfectly aligned fixed hub! I won't go back to fixed. every .001 counts!

I run the clamp on chain guide from PMI without gear guards never had chain issues from 11 driver to 16. Even get away with one on indoor concrete
