Just wondering how the cost of these compare to the alcohol version, or the clone. Seems like it would be a great class. Much better package that still lets people tinker with their own engine.

To the original post, the gas class is more economical than the alky version IF you keep it stock by the rules. I have built several of these engines. The power starts to fall off around 6100-6200 so there is no need to rev it up high, it still makes good torque, and it last a long time if you keep a clean filter on it and the oil changed. In my opinion, this class should have been pushed long before the clone came out and you probably would have never heard of a clone engine.
